Bear in ticking and monogram

The bear, popular toy...
Did you know it? Born from the old tradition of the bear leaders, the popular Teddy bear was carried out in old covers and blankets, a leg of worn out trousers,... and many other textiles.

The world-spread popularity of teddy bear is owed to Theodore Roosevelt (president of the United States): in 1903 one day while he was hunting the bear, he saved a baby bear. Photographs was taken, and the industry of toys seized the event…

Today this succes remains intact. It is in that state of mind I make my bears.
The eldest is made of old flax with printed textiles inside the ears and under the paws. Its jacket is of grey striped ticking.
The yougest is entirely cut out in antic fabrics with red cross stitch monogram.
